Suntan lotion and sunscreen myth
Many people have become more aware of the dangers of sun exposure. So the big question many ask, do all suntan lotions contain sunscreen?

The answer is No! Many tanning lotions, creams and oils are designed to promote tanning and thus do not provide protection from the allmighty sun.
What you need to particularly look out for is the SPF label.
SPF stands for "sun protection factor". SPF ratings range from a base of 2 to a peak of 50 which provides the best protection. Most dermatologists believe that SPF 15 is adequate protention.
To estimate how long you can stay in the sun without getting a sun burn, multiply the number of minutes it normally takes your skin to turn red by the SPF.
For example, if your unprotected skin begins to turn red in about 10 minutes, an SPF of 20 will give you 200 minutes of sun protection. So if you're planning that after lunch beach volleyball tourney which usually last the whole afternoon, it's better to get your SPF 50 ready.
You wouldn't want to look like this! But hey, it could just be the next trendy look.
